Redelfi S.p.A. (“Redelfi” or the “Company”), the parent company of the industrial group of the same name with its operational headquarters in Genoa —engaged in the development of innovative and sustainable infrastructure to support the energy transition, and listed on the Euronext Growth Milan segment of Borsa Italiana—announces that it has obtained from the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (“MASE”) the first Autorizzazione Unica (license) for the Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”) project in Cumiana, for 268 MW.
Obtaining the Autorizzazione Unica represents an important milestone for Redelfi, as it is the Group’s first BESS project to complete the authorization process with MASE. The Cumiana project is part of Bright Storage S.p.A.’s pipeline. The completion of the authorization process is therefore significant within the context of the transaction, which aims to maximize the value of the portfolio and generate revenue from the sale of authorized projects. As part of the agreements with the Municipality of Cumiana, the Redelfi Group has also signed a Service Agreement aimed at providing financial support to the local community.
Cumiana’s location in Piedmont also plays a significant role in the national energy context. Northern Italy is a key region for the country’s electricity demand and production system, and in this context, large-scale BESS infrastructure can play a strategic role in increasing the flexibility and stability of the national power grid, while also promoting more efficient integration of renewable energy sources.
