Energy communities<\/span><\/b> are to date one of the most relevant opportunities to <\/span>access renewable and sustainable energy sources<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Talking about <\/span>energy communities<\/span><\/b> in Italy today is no longer taboo, and this is thanks to the <\/span>evolution of production technologies<\/span><\/b> that allow for the use of <\/span>sustainable and renewable resources<\/span><\/b> in an increasingly efficient way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In our country, energy communities will finally be able to become a reality and this is thanks to the <\/span>Decreto Milleproroghe<\/span><\/b> and in particular <\/span>Art. 42Bis<\/span><\/b>.\u00a0 Specifically, the article in question of <\/span>Dl 162\/2019<\/span><\/b> is precisely about promoting the use of energy from renewable sources and also provides for the possibility of activating new <\/span>experimental configurations of collective self-consumption<\/span><\/b> with renewable resources and energy communities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are energy communities?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The<\/span> definition of an energy community<\/span><\/b> allows us to understand a little more. <\/span>Energy communities<\/span><\/b> are<\/span> groups of people working together to share energy produced from renewable resources<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These communities follow an extremely innovative model for the <\/span>production of clean energy<\/span><\/b> and for its <\/span>distribution<\/span><\/b> and subsequent <\/span>sustainable consumption<\/span><\/b>. Underlying it all are, in fact, values that are often talked about nowadays such as <\/span>energy equity and efficiency<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Energy communities are based on a recently introduced concept that goes hand in hand with the <\/span>digitalization process<\/span><\/b>. We are talking about the concept of the <\/span>Smart Grid<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A <\/span>revolution of the electrical grid<\/span><\/b> is needed in our country, and that is why we are increasingly hearing about <\/span>microgrids<\/span><\/b> and <\/span>storage systems<\/span><\/b>. Thanks to digitalization and the Smart Grid those who have a<\/span> photovoltaic system<\/span><\/b> can share their excess energy with the community and therefore<\/span> reduce not only waste<\/span><\/b> but also\u00a0<\/span>environmental impact<\/span><\/b>. A series of advantages that in a historical context such as the current one cannot be ignored.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The goal of energy communities<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The main objective of energy communities<\/span><\/b> is to create a decentralized energy system that can <\/span>reduce dependence on traditional energy source<\/span><\/b>s.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, more than ever, it is important to<\/span> reduce dependence on fossil fuels<\/span><\/b>. But that is not all: it is also important to <\/span>reduce gas emissions<\/span><\/b> and to focus on an economic model that is as sustainable as possible.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Members of an energy community<\/span><\/b> can share the energy they produce, use energy collaboratively, and buy and sell energy among themselves. This fortifies\u00a0the\u00a0key concepts of the<\/span> sharing economy<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The advantages of energy communities<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Among the <\/span>benefits of energy communities<\/span><\/b>, a few stand out. <\/span>Better management of energy from renewable sources<\/span><\/b>, for example. <\/span>Battery storage<\/span><\/b> allows energy to be stored and harnessed when it is difficult to meet demand.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It also addresses\u00a0the <\/span>imbalances<\/span><\/b> related to renewables, which makes the whole pathway more manageable.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>savings on utility bills<\/span><\/b> are also very interesting. The costs of the variable components of periodic energy spending decrease as consumption increases. This means that you pay less grid charges and taxes, but you also pay a <\/span>lower energy share<\/span><\/b> when consumption increases.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In light of the above, it is also useful to remember that there are <\/span>tax breaks<\/span><\/b>, in the form of <\/span>deductions<\/span><\/b> or <\/span>depreciation<\/span><\/b>, that provide additional savings.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And the savings are also matched by actual <\/span>earnings<\/span><\/b> because money can be made from energy production and collaboration with a community.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These are just some of the reasons why more and more Italians are taking advantage of the <\/span>incentives for energy communities<\/span><\/b> that are also taking hold in our country and aiming to be the future. A future in which the Redelfi Group believes.
